Dear Aberdeen Parents, girls and friends,

Dear Aberdeen Parents, girls and friends,

Welcome to the House blog. The aim of this blog is to give you access to non-vital information about the House and College. The girls get involved with so much at the College and I hope to use this forum as a way of keeping you informed of the activities they get involved in.

Please do join in and check it out whenever you can.

Best wishes,

Kate Newson

All our Bronze Award Winners.

The group above have been awarded 20 or more merits and have received their Bronze certificates.
                   Well done.

Star of the Week ~ Alma Pannier

Alma has been really helpful and supportive to me and members of the House.   You will see her pictures displayed below, as she was chief photographer for the Pancake Race.   She has also donated an amazing poster 'Smoking Kills' to the House which was beautifully crafted.   Well done.

The inargural Inter-House Pancake Race - Congratulations Aberdeen

On  Shrove Tuesday we organised the first ever Pancake Race between Aberdeen and Neal.   My intention is to make this an annual event and the winners will receive a coveted saucepan trophy (which Mrs. P is kindly making for us).   The pancakes were made quite solid so that they would not break easily as they were tossed around in the relay race - the ones made in the kitchens were so much nicer and certainly would not have survived as you can see. ( the video is at the end of the pictures, a bit of a giggle............)  A big thank you to Alma and Steph for their help with recording this event.

Star of the Week - Isabella Weijnman

Isabella visited the sick in the San, spending time and sharing lunch with those who were feeling low.   She was really helpful around House and helped to create a map showing where all the girls live in the World, to display in our Common Room.   She was a true friend and an example to all.   Thank you for being you!

Happy Birthday to Laura too!

Winners of the Girls Inter-House Singing Competition

We are very proud of being the Winners of the house singing competition.   Well done the girls of Aberdeen.
A big thank you to Jenny and Amanda for all their hard work in preparing the House for the competition.

Snowy Ardingly on Sunday Morning

The girls in Aberdeen were at my door early, checking the alarm was off and that they could go out into the freshly fallen snow.   The whole Newson clan were out and George, William and Hannah and Isabella all soon picked on Mr Newson, covering him in snow.   Take a look......

Tamsin Greenway (England Netball Star) coaches at Ardingly

The girls were lucky enough to be given a specialised training session by Tamsin Greenway, England Netball superstar.  Tamsin was here all day and girls from each age group were given specialist tips on Netball.   They had loads of fun and learnt some new moves.
