We would like to warmly invite you to the Aberdeen 'Back to the future' music concert on Wednesday 12th February 2014 at 7pm in the Under.
The girls are putting on a varied programme from Year Group songs, group and individual instrumentals and some guest appearances from past Aberdonians.
We also have a first for Ardingly, Catherine Ritchie and Josie Lau are playing a Harp Duet, something not to be missed.
Please come and support the girls. There will be refreshments and a chance to catch up.
Best wishes
Kate
Dear Aberdeen Parents, girls and friends,
Dear Aberdeen Parents, girls and friends,
Welcome to the House blog. The aim of this blog is to give you access to non-vital information about the House and College. The girls get involved with so much at the College and I hope to use this forum as a way of keeping you informed of the activities they get involved in.
Please do join in and check it out whenever you can.

Star of the Week: Alina and Charlie
These two have been very caring and supportive to another member of the House who has had some sad news. It is so lovely to know that the girls support each other so well. Thank you.
Congratulations to our Hockey Players
Congratulations to Emily O'Shea and Rebecca for being selected to the U15 County Hockey Squad and good luck to them both in their coming matches.
Charlotte Childs has been training with the England U16 squad and we wish her well to. (It should be noted that she has been running with this along side studying for her Mock Exams, in which she has excelled too).
Sadly Emily was poorly today - but I will catch her on camera next week.

Birthdays: Lucy and Amelia
A busy and wet weekend
Some mixed results with the Netball on Saturday, but at least the matches were able to go ahead. In the evening some of the girls went to the cinema, while others took some time out to 'chill-lax' after a busy week of Mocks. On Sunday the weather took a turn for the worse and it rain most of the day. Loulou and Catherine baked for the whole House, which was really welcomed.

Exam Week
Well the girls all deal with the stress of exams in different ways. They seem to have coped well with the experience. Some like to burn off some energy after evening school by playing on the Wii or listening to music.

Mum's Coffee morning a great Success
Lisa and Suzanne organised a wonderful Coffee morning in the Aberdeen Common Room, despite the rain and localised flooding. Apparantly the M23 was closed for 6 miles this morning and certainly the roads around Ardingly were heavily laden with excess runoff.
Another coffee morning will be planned soon. Thank you to the everyone for attending.

Star of the Week: Aria takes a risk
Last Saturday when illness struck the U15C netball team, Aria took a risk and stepped in to help. She had played basketball before and quickly adopted her skills to play in the team at Centre. A crucial and significant position. She volunteered and really applied the Ardingly Learning Profile, by taking a risk. Well don Aria.

Saturday Night Pyjama Party
We had a relaxing and fun time with Shell to Lower Sixth at Aberdeen. Hot chocolate, pastries and pancakes. The Pyjama party was a real hit.
Saturday morning netball
The girls move to playing Netball this term. This morning some have already played Hurt and others play later this afternoon. I managed to get a few pictures before I take the U15A hockey. Take a look.......

Coffee Morning next
Dear Aberdeen and Neal Parents,
Lisa and Suzanne would like to invite you all to a Back to School Coffee Morning on Friday 17th January from 9am to 10:30am in The Aberdeen Common Room.
Unfortunately we cannot use The House facilities until after lessons start, perhaps some of you might like to arrange a dog walk (or if no dog, just a walk!!!) to fill the time between drop off and coffee.
It would be great to catch up with as many parents as possible.
Look forward to seeing you.
Kind Regards
Lisa Childs and Suzanne O’Shea

Happy New Year
Well we are back in the flow of College life and the girls seem to have settled in well to the new rooms and roommates. The Vth have mocks in two weeks so are already working hard. Some of the Vth sat their IGCSE Maths on Friday and I think it went well.
