Dear Aberdeen Parents, girls and friends,

Dear Aberdeen Parents, girls and friends,

Welcome to the House blog. The aim of this blog is to give you access to non-vital information about the House and College. The girls get involved with so much at the College and I hope to use this forum as a way of keeping you informed of the activities they get involved in.

Please do join in and check it out whenever you can.

Best wishes,

Kate Newson

House Mistress of Aberdeen

Slide show on the Steepo 2013

Ardingly 'Steepo' 2013

What a wonderful day, with a great spirit and lots of happy faces.   The girls gathered together to put on the 'blue war paint' and then sang chants and really got into the spirit of to the occasion.   The whole College was buzzing with energy and fun.   Rebecca Chee came joint first with Ciara Branagan, the other girls ran really well too.

Link to Hope Shoebox Appeal

The whole College is supporting the 'Link to Hope' charity, which sends shoeboxes to families and elderly people in Eastern Europe. Miss Crowe's group decided to join in and make up some shoeboxes - in total our tutor group donated 6, 3 family ones and 3 for elderly people.

Special thanks to Freya who brought in 2 from home and Amy's little sister, who donated some of her pocket money! Many thanks to all parents who went out and bought items, giving of your time and money.

Our collection of beautifully and lovingly wrapped shoeboxes.

Next Event: Aberdeen 'Back to the Future' charity music concert on Wednesday 12th February 2014 in the Under.   More information to follow.
Girls past and present will perform followed by drinks and nibbles.

In House Movie Night

The girls have had a really busy week and then had hockey matches on against City of London, Freemans on Saturday.   Alina played in her first ever hockey match and was voted player of the match by the opposition.  Many girls who would normally play in the U16's team were dispersed into the 1st , 2nd and 3rd XI hockey teams.
The evening then came and having some downtime was the order of the day (or night).
Movies, Popcorn and Icecream with the films.   Jess van Droogenbroeck and Maxine Higgeni (Lower Sixth) popped in to say 'Hello'.  It was a really lovely evening.
The girls were then up early on Sunday morning getting organised to visit Westfields Shopping Centre in London.

Friday Night Frenzy: Making Fifteens!!

Crushing the biscuits...

Chopping the marshmallows (unconventionally using a pizza cutter!)

Lena chopping the glace cherries - a key ingredient for authentic 15s!

Thankfully, the condensed milk had gone into the mixture before Ellie tried to balance it on her head!

15s looking great before they are wrapped up

Wrapped up, ready to put in the fridge! Unfortunately, the were all eaten before we could get a picture of the finished product..!

Star of the Week: Charlotte Childs

Charlotte has been a super-star this week.  She has been a really wonder ambassador for the House and the College giving tours, playing for the College 1st XI Hockey Team and getting involved in many other aspects of College life.   She has been an inspiration.  Well done.
